Music Night Recap

By Miriam Ahmad-Gawel

The second music night of the school year, Winter Music Night, held on December 11th in the alumni auditorium, was a major success once again. Alisa Klebanov, a twelfth grade student, was featured as a soloist playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, and received a standing ovation at the end of her performance. Adding to the chipper mood of the night, the Wind Ensemble and Senior Orchestra continued on their traditions of playing “Sleigh Ride” and “A Christmas Festival,” both by Leroy Anderson. Other highlights of the show include the Senior Orchestra’s performances of works by Tchaikovsky and Dvorak, and the Wind Ensemble’s opening with Vaughn-Williams’ “Flourish for Wind Band.”

The next music night, Spring Music Night, will be held in May, so make sure to go and see the amazing performances!
